Brainland is an AI emerging healthtech startup focussed on making brain health more accessible to the wider public.

As the first Product Design intern, I led the creation of developing a visual identity and designing logo concepts and brand guidelines to support key business initiatives ahead of its launch.

Note: Due to my NDA, designs will remain private.

MISSION

Your brain's new best friend

Brainland is a healthtech startup aimed to enhance brain health through advanced AI-powered tools.

Being an emerging startup, the brand lacked a cohesive visual identity, making it difficult to differentiate in a competitive market. Without a strong presence, the startup would struggle to resonate with its audience and appeal to investors.

Therefore, my work spanned leading the brand identity, app design to establish a strong foundation for future growth.

PROJECTS

The journey

Branding

I revamped the brand's initial logo and developed brand guidelines to reflect our value of making brain health accessible and fun for everyone.

App Design

I led the design for a mobile application to personalise brain health seamlessly into everyday life for individuals through the integration of artificial intelligence. The application balanced gamified tasks and personalised insights, giving users transparency into their brain health.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Showcase at SXSW Sydney!

We got to showcase a demo of the app as a part of the SXSW Sydney 2024 lineup.

KEY LEARNINGS
Being proactive and bold

Being the sole designer in a startup really pushed me out of my comfort zone to explore new ideas, and experiment how AI can be integrated.

Build fast, iterate faster

Startups move quickly, and so did I. Building, testing and iterating quickly is crucial in order improve the product.

Cross-functional teams

Adapting to constant changes and collaborating effectively were key, especially in an emerging startup where I learnt the importance of designing to propel business outcomes.
